Mechanical and Civil Engineering Contractors Company Limited (MACE) is based in the United Arab Emirates with its headquarters for the region located in the city of Abu Dhabi.
MACE established in Libya 1968 and provided a vast range of construction and services to oil companies in the region encompassing all aspects of oil field development and maintenance for cross country pipelines, flow line, pump stations and plant turn around.
MACE gained an excellent reputation for comprehensive maintenance service of refineries, gas plants, housing and office services to isolated areas over 500 Kms into the Libyan desert.
Following the successful ventures in Libya, MACE extended its operations into the Arabian Gulf In 1973 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, MACE’s operation duplicated its Libya operations in the oilfields, serving ARAMCO (Saudi Arabian Oil Company),SCECO (Now Saudi Electrical Company SEC) and other ministries dealing with the infrastructure and construction projects on major pipelines for gas, oil and water.
As demand for qualified contractors increased throughout the recently formed UAE, MACE expanded its business operations, playing a significant role in the development of critical infrastructure in the major cities of the UAE. It developed a strong reputation in sewerage systems and treatment works and the operation and maintenance thereof. Mace also worked in Hospital construction, Industrial warehousing, and undertaking a variety of Turnkey Projects.
In the UAE, the company swiftly gained a solid reputation with the ADSSC (Abu Dhabi Sewage Services Company) for the high quality Sewerage Network Installations. The relationship was further cemented when MACE took over the Operation and Maintenance of Sewerage Assets on Abu Dhabi Island in 2002 to date , including the entire network of Gravity & Pumped Sewers.
MACE takes pride in introducing innovative engineering methods and in applying them. Cathodic protection of subterranean concrete structures, sewer surveys and sewer rehabilitation were some examples of such new technologies.
In keeping with our drive for innovation we encourage and fund our staff to undertake their CPD, attend seminars and study to keep abreast of new methods of management, accounting and engineering technologies, whether that be at home in the UAE, or overseas.
MACE is able to allocate an entire workforce for a specific project from professionally qualified engineers backed by university degrees in engineering construction and engineering management to administrative support staff to field hands. When possible, personnel are recruited from the domestic workforce ,who are familiar with elements intrinsic to the region. Hiring domestically also enables the company to become well integrated into the community as well as stimulating the economy by providing employment.
In support of Project delivery we have an extensive asset portfolio of Plant, Vehicles and Machines along with a well-stocked materials and parts store, to ensure all projects can proceed without delays.
MACE was amongst the first companies in the region to achieve the ISO 9001: 2000 accreditation. Since then we have secured further accreditation including ISO 14001: 2004 (Environmental Management Systems) and BSi 18001: 2007 OHSAS (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems).
